Our Story

Illustration from the original tale — Pavel Bazhov

Silver Hoof Creamery begins with a story. An old Russian folk tale about a magical deer, a young girl, and the quiet magic of simple moments becoming extraordinary ones. That story is our foundation — and it shapes everything we make.

Chapter One

The Deer of the Winter Forest

Deep in the Ural Mountains, where the snow never fully melts and the pine forests run dark and endless, there lived a deer unlike any other. It walked alone through the blue-shadowed trees, seen by very few. Its hooves made no sound. And one — the right front hoof — gleamed silver in the moonlight.

Chapter Two

Only the Kind-Hearted Are Chosen

The deer reveals itself only to those who lead with warmth. A young orphan girl named Daryonka and her guardian Kokovanya wait patiently through the long winter. They do not hunt or chase. They simply watch.

"One night, the deer appears on the rooftop of their cottage. When it stamps its silver hoof, gemstones scatter across the snow like seeds — rubies, sapphires, emeralds — glittering in the moonlight."

Chapter Three

Magic is Quiet

The deer stamps once, scatters gems, and disappears. What remains is not just treasure — it is the memory of something beautiful witnessed in an ordinary moment. This is the spirit at the heart of Silver Hoof Creamery.

Daria's Best Day Ever

Daria Kim

Founder & Creator

For founder Daria Kim, soft serve has always meant more than dessert. Growing up, trips to get ice cream with her father were rare — not lavish, not planned, but spontaneous afternoons that felt lighter than the rest.

She remembers those afternoons as the "Best Day Ever." Not because of extravagance — because of togetherness. The sweetness of soft serve became tied to warmth, comfort, and the feeling that everything was exactly as it should be.

She remembers those afternoons as the "Best Day Ever." Not because of extravagance — because of togetherness. The sweetness of soft serve became tied to warmth, comfort, and the feeling that everything was exactly as it should be.

Years later, Kim set out to create something more intentional. Silver Hoof was designed as a refined, experience-driven creamery — a place where families and friends can pause, enjoy something beautiful, and share a treat that feels both elevated and effortless.

Every detail is considered. Sundaes are carefully composed and presented with precision. Each swirl is finished with candy gems that nod to the folk legend. The soft serve itself — crafted with premium California dairy from Scott Brothers Dairy — is lighter and smoother than anything you have tasted before.

A treat can be elevated. A moment can feel special. And sometimes the smallest experiences leave the strongest impression.
